Mufti Abdullah Zaman was born and raised in Queens, New York. He began his formal Islamic studies at Darul Uloom New York, where he completed the memorization of the Qurʾān in 2017 before continuing into the institution’s seven-year ʿĀlim program. He graduated from the program in 2024 after completing a comprehensive curriculum in the traditional Islamic sciences.
Following his graduation, Mufti Abdullah pursued advanced specialization in Islamic jurisprudence and the issuing of legal verdicts (iftāʾ) at Darul Iftaa Chicago in Elgin, Illinois. There, he studied under the guidance of Mufti Abrar Mirza and completed the specialization in 2026.
His academic training encompasses Qurʾān, ḥadīth, Islamic law, and the broader traditional Islamic sciences, with particular advanced training in Ḥanafī jurisprudence and iftāʾ.
Ustādh Muhammad Drammeh is a graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah, where he earned a B.S. in Islamic Law in 2022. He also completed an advanced diploma in educational preparation, with training in pedagogy and instruction. He holds ijāzahs in Qurʾān memorization and in the nine major books of ḥadīth.
He has extensive experience in Arabic-language education and curriculum development. He taught Arabic at the Umm al-Qurā Foundation in The Gambia, where he developed lesson plans, contributed to curriculum planning, and taught students at the elementary level. He also developed Arabic-language and literature programming through STAR FM in The Gambia.
In addition to his academic work, Ustādh Muhammad has served as an imam, khaṭīb, religious educator in the Bronx. He is fluent in Arabic, Mandinka, and Wolof, and proficient in English.
Muftī Rafi Muntakim completed the memorization of the Quran at Darul Uloom New York in 2014. In 2015, he commenced his ʿālimiyyah studies at the same institution and later completed the final years of the program at Madrasah ʿArabiyyah Islāmiyyah in Azādville, South Africa, from 2019 to 2022. During this period, he studied the ten canonical modes of Qur’anic recitation (Qirāʾāt) under Qāriʾ ʿAbdullāh Motara.
Following his graduation, he pursued specialized studies in the Science of Ḥadīth at Madrasatul Uloomi Shar’iyyah, South Africa, from 2022 to 2023. He then completed his Iftāʾ studies at Jāmiʿah Ḥākimul Ummat in Bangladesh from 2023 to 2025 under Muftī Muḥammad Yahyā, former Deputy Director of the Iftāʾ Program at Markaz al-Daʿwah al-Islāmiyyah, Dhaka.
Muftī Tofael Nuruddin was raised in Montreal, Canada. He memorized the Qurʾān at Al-Rashid Islamic Institute in Cornwall, Canada, where he also began his ʿĀlimiyyah studies. He later completed and graduated from the ʿĀlimiyyah Program at Madrasah ʿArabiyyah Islāmiyyah (Azaadville) in South Africa. Following this, he pursued specialization in issuing legal responsa (fatāwā) at Jamiah Qasimul Uloom. Alongside his traditional studies, he entered the Specialist in Philosophy program at the University of Toronto before transferring to Columbia University, where he completed his degree in Philosophy and MESAAS.
Muftī Tofael has taught and served in various communities across Toronto as well as in MA, PA, NJ, and NY. Deeply committed to research, he has authored multiple works in both Arabic and English.
He currently serves as the Program Coordinator at Nida-ul-Islam in NJ and as the ʿĀlimiyyah Principal at Tawheed Dawah Center in NJ. He teaches ʿaqīdah at FIKR and in the ʿĀlimiyyah Program at Darul Ehsan. He is a board member at Project Ihya in GA and Dirayah Seminary in NY, and also serves as an advisor for Amana Institute and MESBA.
Ustādhah Faatima Uddin completed her ʿĀlimiyyah studies at Baitul Hamd Institute in New York, where she studied the traditional Islamic sciences, including Tafsīr, Ḥadīth, Fiqh, ʿAqīdah, Uṣūl al-Fiqh, Arabic, and Urdu. She memorized the Qurʾān at a young age under private tutelage in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
She has been involved in Islamic education for over a decade, teaching Qurʾān, Fiqh, Tafsīr, Ḥadīth, Uṣūl al-Fiqh, and other Islamic sciences to women, young adults, and youth. From 2015 to 2022, she taught at Baitul Hamd Institute, where she also managed the girls’ Ḥifẓ program and later served in an administrative capacity. Her teaching experience has since extended to Islamic studies programs, youth initiatives, summer intensives, and community programs across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond.
Alongside her traditional Islamic education, she earned an associate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Monroe Community College, SUNY, and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology through Harvard University Extension School.
Ustādhah Mariam Farhan began her Qur’ānic journey at Madrasah Āʾishah Ṣiddīqah Banāt in Karachi, Pakistan, where she completed the memorization of the Qur’ān in 2016. She then pursued the ʿĀlimiyyah program at the same institution, completing the six-year course in 2023 with a focus on Qur’ān, Ḥadīth, Fiqh, and Tafsīr.
Alongside her Islamic education, she studied the sciences at Shaheed-e-Millat Government College for Women in Karachi.
Ustādhah Mariam has served as an educator at several institutions in both Pakistan and the United States, including Madrasah Aṣḥāb al-Ṣuffah (Karachi), Masjid Ḥamzah, Jāmiʿatul ʿUlūm (New York), and the Elmont Islamic Center. At these institutions, she has taught Qur’ān, Tajwīd, and Islamic Studies, and has been actively involved in youth initiatives, women’s study circles, and community programs aimed at nurturing spiritual growth and Islamic literacy.
Ustādhah Ṣafiyyah Karīm was raised in New York, where she completed her secondary education with honors at the Urban Assembly School of Business for Young Women. She later pursued her ʿĀlimiyyah studies at Madrasah Mueinul Islām in Johannesburg, South Africa. She also holds ijāzah in the recitations of Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim and Shuʿbah ʿan ʿĀṣim under Qāriʾ Muḥammad Qāsim Mushtāq al-Azharī.
Upon returning to New York, Ustādhah Ṣafiyyah has taught in various madāris and continues to work closely with women and youth, focusing on spiritual growth, character refinement, and community engagement. Her work with the revert community includes mentorship, support circles, and faith-based education.
Alongside her traditional training, she has studied Montessori Early Education and the principles of Multiplexity (Marātib) in pedagogy, integrating classical Islamic learning with contemporary educational methodologies.
She currently serves as the founder and director of Amana Institute of New York, an initiative dedicated to cultivating scholarship, mentorship, and holistic Islamic education among women and youth. Additionally, she serves at Dean Academy, an online academic platform, as Guidance Counselor and General Advisor, contributing to curriculum development, Islamic integration, and institutional planning.
