Program description

The dual-track arabic program is a six-month weekend course that integrates Qurʾānic Arabic and Conversational Arabic, with each course scheduled on a separate weekend day for focused learning.

Qurʾānic Arabic

Foundational principles

  •  Frequency-based vocabulary acquisition.
  • Morphology-first approach to maximize vocabulary recognition.
  • Contextual reading of Qurʾānic verses from the earliest weeks.
  • Active recall through drills, quizzes, and cumulative assessments.
  • Progressive grammar aligned with Qurʾānic usage patterns.

 

Course Goals

  •  Mastery of approximately 1,000 high-frequency Qurʾānic words.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze the major verb forms.
  • Competence in reading and translating selected sūrahs.
  • Foundational readiness for advanced Tajwīd, Tafsīr, or Naḥw studies.

Conversational Arabic

Foundational principles

  • 80–90% in-class Arabic speech by Month 3.
  • Communicative and task-based activities focused on real-life functions.
  • Function-focused grammar integrated with speaking and listening practice.
  • High-frequency vocabulary at the core of every lesson.
  • Weekly listening, reading, and writing practice to support oral fluency.

  •  Build confidence in initiating and sustaining conversations in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).
  • Acquire approximately 800–1200 core MSA vocabulary items.
  • Develop functional grammar to express past, present, and future actions.
  • Comprehend and respond to simple spoken Arabic in clear registers.
  • Read and write short paragraphs in MSA.
  • Engage in structured dialogues on common topics (family, work, food, travel, culture, religion).
